A Deal home improvements company has been praised for donating and fitting a £1,400 front door for a woman in need. Regency Home Improvements, of Northbourne Road, prides itself on 30 years’ experience in providing high-quality conservatories, orangeries, sun-rooms, double glazed windows, doors, plus guttering and fascias.

The company has a wide outreach in east Kent – serving people across the district and in neighbouring towns such as Folkestone and Thanet. During the festive season they partnered up with radio station kmfm and Kent Reliance, to give a new front door away as part of a competition, entitled Make Someone’s Christmas. Nominations came in thick and fast on-air during the drive-time show, and kmfm DJ Rob Wills announced that Jayne Clarke, of Felderland Lane, Worth, was the winner, just in time for Christmas Day.

The ecstatic grandmother was nominated by her daughter-in-law who knew she was in need of a replacement door. The existing door had a huge hole in it, covered by a curtain. Two employees spent a morning at the Worth address taking time, care and consideration to fit the door which Jayne had the joy of picking. They even showed her how to operate the door’s locks before they left. She said: “Regency were excellent – they put covers down on everything and they were really nice and polite. “I cannot praise them enough, it was very good service and they were very thorough in their work.” Co-director Ian Cannon said: “We always look to try and give a bit back to the community. “And the competition was the perfect opportunity.” Rob Wills said: “This was a huge thing for us to do on kmfm with Kent Reliance. “The thing is we just would not have been able to pull off 24 days of Making Someone’s Christmas without companies like Regency Home Improvements. “Massive thanks.” Jayne thanked Regency and Kent Reliance for her new front door, a longlasting, welcome addition to her home.
